In this comedy of errors, a financially struggling father, deep in debt, decides to fake a kidnapping to get a ransom.

As the name suggests, yes, you guessed it, it's a fake kidnapping. The story revolves around Sattam, a struggling father and failed businessman with numerous debts. That's when he comes up with a crazy plan: to fake the kidnapping of his own father and demand a ransom from the rest of the family. The family knows he's the one who kidnapped the father.
Director: Amine Lakhnech
Writers: Abdulaziz Alessa, Ahmed Amer
Stars: Abdullah AlDaris, Mohammed Aldokhei, Saeed Alewiran
The funny part is that he enlists the help of his friends, who are just as clueless as he is. With the loan shark hot on their heels, the entire film is a comedy of errors. The rest of the film chronicles the unfortunate decisions these characters make to get the money, the amount of which they hadn't even agreed upon.
While the plot is quite predictable, the film is still entertaining. It offers many funny moments without ever becoming boring. The real fun begins once the fake kidnapping is carried out. The supposed "negotiations" are what makes the plot worthwhile. At the same time, amidst all the jokes, the creators show the difficulties Sattam faces as a father. I understand that the plot was quite predictable from the title, but there are some unexpected twists that the creators had in store for us. The biggest twist for me was the kidnapping of the father himself. At first, I thought they would kidnap someone else and return them. But no, they end up kidnapping the father for money. That makes it even more hilarious.
The cast has done a great job with their excellent sense of humor. For example, Mohammed Aldokhie, Yazid Almajyul, Abdulaziz Al Skireen, and the rest of the cast do justice to their roles. The special appearance of footballer Saeed Al-Owairan is the icing on the cake.
In short, it's a thoroughly entertaining film. You won't be bored for a single moment. It's fast-paced, with a running time of only one hour and twenty-five minutes. This adds to the enjoyment of watching it. Even the pacing is fast, which ensures it's not boring at all. Entertainment center
Also, I hadn't seen anything from Saudi Arabia in a long time. So this film was a pleasant surprise from the Middle East. It was fun to see their entertainment industry, and what better way to do it than through comedy? I hope Netflix releases more content like this in other genres as well.
So, if you want to watch something enjoyable, sweet, and funny this weekend, don't hesitate to watch "The Fakenapping." It will leave you with fond memories and a lot of laughs thanks to its plot, direction, and performances.
