 MGM+'s Nine Bodies in a Mexican Morgue is a run-of-the-mill survival thriller centered around nine survivors who end up in the middle of nowhere. Eight passengers had boarded a flight at Guatemala's Aurora International Airport bound for Houston, Texas, but before they could reach their destination, the pilot, Octavio Fuentes, lost his bearings due to a GPS system failure. He tried to contact authorities and sent out numerous requests for immediate help, but no one responded. In the end, the plane ran out of fuel and Octavio had to make an emergency landing in the Mexican rainforest. The first episode of Nine Bodies in a Mexican Morgue begins with nine dead bodies arriving at the Mexican military camp of Los Trios.
