 A sinister force with a clock attached to its chest that reads 08:26 looms outside Jess's yoga class in 2022, which then returns her to a conversation on a park bench with a friend. She explains the strangely disturbing comfort of the skeletal figure of Dr. Bones, who always seems to be hovering in her peripheral vision. Later, Jess and her partner Scott are shot by an armed intruder in her apartment, triggering a whirlwind trip through her past. Once she controls her breathing, she will be able to take an active role in the moments she relives. Her chance presents her with a difficult decision about whether to intervene to save her loved ones from making the same decisions that led to the timeline she just watched come to a bloody end.
