The film follows Argentinian pop star Lali Espósito as she returns after a long hiatus, prepares for her first major stadium tour, and speaks candidly about her creative comeback, personal doubts, and the work behind rebuilding her artistic voice. Lali: Time to Step Up felt a bit like having VIP access backstage, only to be gently ushered into a folding chair while the crew tidied up cables around me. I felt the excitement, the intimacy, the sense that something big was happening, but also a reminder that this is a polished documentary with a PR-friendly sheen. Still, I found myself laughing, engaged, and occasionally rolling my eyes, in the way a good celebrity documentary unintentionally manages to achieve.
