Renée (Vanessa Lengies) has always dreamed of starting her own business, but when her mother fell ill, she and her husband Aaron (Corey Sevier) returned to the suburbs to care for her and were forced to put their dreams on hold. Now, a decade later, she's officially stuck in a rut with mounting bills and a dead-end job putting a strain on her normally happy marriage. After a particularly daunting day working at a local gift shop, an elf who runs the Santa Claus exhibit offers to grant Renée one Christmas wish.
