This film revolves around a pastor named Seph who loses his father, Otep. Like his son, Otep was a devout churchgoer and very involved in the church. However, what was about to happen was something Seph was not prepared for. At the funeral, it was revealed that Otep was gay and had spent decades trying to hide the truth. This leaves Seph very confused and unable to comprehend how to react to the situation. Upon further investigation, Seph discovers love letters his father wrote to a pen pal, and reading them, he clearly sees all the love and emotions poured into them. Seph, being a pastor himself, has to come to terms with this truth about his father and, at the same time, change his own beliefs. This entire process of openness and acceptance is what the film portrays.
