Rintaro Tsumugi (Yoshinori Nakayama) is a student at Chidori Public High School who has inadvertently earned a reputation for being intimidating due to his tall stature and delinquent appearance. In reality, he's a kind, often misunderstood boy with a genuine desire to help others. While he has good friends at school, there are still things he can't quite tell them. For example, he keeps a secret that his parents own a charming local pastry shop called Patisserie Plain, where he sometimes helps out after school. On one fateful rainy day, Rintaro meets a regular customer named Kaoruko Waguri (Honoka Inoue), whom he assumes is a high school student due to her short stature. Despite her size, Kaoruko has no problem devouring countless pastries in one sitting, and when Rintaro silently marvels at her insatiable stomach while he's working, Kaoruko storms out of the shop. Rintaro assumes it's because of his appearance and his frightening aura, but Kaoruko returns the next day...
