Caramelo, Netflix's heartwarming new Brazilian drama, centers on a chef diagnosed with a terminal illness and the dog who came into his life and became his best friend. The story's hero, Caramelo, was abandoned in a cardboard box by the side of the road. Possibly rejected by the family who briefly adopted him, or perhaps considered too much trouble for the town where he was born, Caramelo realized from a young age that his daily struggle was finding food.
