 The finale of In Flight revolved largely around the question of whether Irishman Cormac Kelleher would betray flight attendant Jo Conran or help her free herself from the shackles of her evil boss, Police Chief Anton Marquis. For a long time, Anton and Cormac ran a drug-trafficking business by turning innocent civilians into drug mules. They would approach people with loved ones in prison and threaten to kill them if they refused to smuggle drugs. This is how Cormac turned the series' protagonist, Jo, into a drug mule after her son, Sonny, was arrested for killing a young man in a bar fight in Sofia, Bulgaria.  Shortly after, Cormac visited Jo and threatened to kill Sonny in prison if she didn't follow his boss's orders. For a long time, Jo suspected that it was Cormac pulling the strings, until she discovered that Cormac was also a victim of the same scheme. His girlfriend, Aoife Ward, was serving a sentence, and Anton had threatened to kill her if Cormac refused to work ...
