I approached "The Perfect Neighbor" expecting a gripping true-crime documentary, and in many ways, it delivers something even more unsettling: a stark, unfiltered chronicle of how a simple dispute, magnified by fear, the law, and racism, can turn deadly. It's the kind of film that doesn't allow you to sit comfortably on the couch; you squirm, you feel uneasy, you question things. At its best, it's urgent, intelligent, and morally impactful. But at its worst, it relies so heavily on the archival footage that at times you feel less guided and more overwhelmed by the rawness of the images.
