Jean-Claude Van Damme will star in THE LEGEND OF JOHNNY JONES, a horror project that will pit him against a character filmmakers hope to turn into the next horror icon.

Set in the slums of New Jersey, young Johnny Jones (Robert Crayton) has only known poverty and abuse his entire life. Pushed to the limit, Johnny Jones suffers a mental breakdown and goes on an unprecedented killing spree, leaving a trail of death and carnage wherever he goes. As tensions and murders escalate, the city calls in Detective Cutchin (Jean-Claude Van Damme) to take charge of the case and bring Johnny Jones to justice.

THE LEGEND OF JOHNNY JONES comes to us from Angry Troll Studios, a company named after Clark's mentor and friend, special effects legend and TROLL director John Carl Buechler. Matthew Clark and Tesha Clark, executive director of Angry Troll, have assembled a dazzling cast around Van Damme and Crayton: their co-stars include Danny Trejo, Kevin Sorbo, Michael Paré, Costas Mandylor, Tom Arnold, Clifton Powell, Siren Mistfall, and Mischa Renee.

"Van Damme versus a killer" is all I needed to hear to get excited for this film, and the rest of the cast adds even more excitement. But that's not all THE LEGEND OF JOHNNY JONES has to offer: this is, in fact, one of three franchises Angry Troll is developing. The others are a horror franchise that will kick off with a film titled DETOUR 95, and an action franchise that will begin with THE STREET AVENGER. The plan is for the JOHNNY JONES, DETOUR 95, and THE STREET AVENGER franchises to have three films each, followed by an epic crossover where all the characters collide.

The crossovers begin with THE LEGEND OF JOHNNY JONES, where Siren Mistfall will play Candace, the protagonist of DETOUR 95, and Mischa Renee will star in THE STREET AVENGER.

High Octane Pictures will present THE LEGEND OF JOHNNY JONES to potential buyers at the upcoming Cannes Film Market.
