Comedian Matt McCusker announced on Monday "A Humble Offering," his first Netflix special, premiering Tuesday, October 7.
Directed by Tyler Falbo (of Almost Friday fame), in this new special, McCusker offers his perspective on the homelessness crisis, race relations, and best practices for seducing his wife. The special is produced by Rotten Science, along with Becky Astphan and Natalya Yonathan, who represent the comedian at Range Media Partners.
Director: Tyler Falbo
Stars: Steve Crawford, Sujata Day, Charlie Farrell
The project strengthens McCusker's ties to Netflix, thanks to his work with longtime friend and collaborator Shane Gillis on "Tires," the hit Netflix comedy series now in its third season.
Nicknamed "The Shaman," McCusker is a Philadelphia comedian, novelist, and actor who self-published his debut special, "The Speed of Light," in 2023.
McCusker crossed paths with Gillis in Philadelphia in the early 2010s. The pair currently co-host the hit comedy show Matt and Shane's Secret Podcast, Patreon's number one podcast globally, which continues to dominate the charts with over 5.5 million monthly downloads and consistently ranks in Spotify's top 15 for comedy. The duo recently partnered with Spotify to offer video episodes of the podcast on its platform.
In addition to Tires, McCusker starred alongside Gillis in the hit web series Gilly & Keeves. In August, he released The Papa John Paradox, an animated short film that marks the first in a new series directed by Big Mouth's Frank Gidlewski, on which he also served as writer, producer, and star. McCusker is also an author, and his debut novel, Overlook: A Story About Drugs, Disappointment, and the American Dream, a satirical and pointed look at a working-class community in the midst of a disappearance, was met with widespread acclaim. He is now developing his next book project and is represented by CAA and Yorn, Levine, Barnes, as well as the aforementioned Range.
