Maargan 2025 Movie Review Trailer Poster

Maargan is the story of a police officer whose daughter was murdered by an anonymous killer, turning his life upside down. He discovered that the killer didn't stop and continued to kill many more innocent people. So let's find out who the killer was, what his motive was for murdering people, and whether he was finally caught.

At the beginning of the film, we saw that a girl, while walking home late at night, was grabbed by a masked assailant. This person injected her with a drug, causing her entire body to turn black, and she soon died. The killer threw her into a trash bin and escaped. Mumbai Police Assistant Constable Dhruv Guvarak wanted to lead the investigation but wasn't allowed due to his past. His superiors felt he was unfit to lead such a high-profile investigation because he simply wasn't stable enough. But Dhruv was a stubborn man and decided to use his connections to ensure he was part of the investigation, even if it was unofficially. The reason Dhruv was so desperate to find the killer was that his own daughter had been murdered in the same way.

He had found his daughter's corpse in a place where people dumped garbage. Her body had also turned black, and it looked as if someone had burned it. But this pigmentation was not due to burning, but rather from the consumption of a special drug made by mixing large quantities of cocaine and melatonin. Just before Dhruv's daughter, Priya, met her fateful end, she was harassed by some seniors at the college. A friend of Priya called Dhruv on a video call to inform him about what was happening, and it was then that Dhruv realized that the man posing as a senior of Priya's was actually Sadiq, a criminal whom the police had been searching for for two years. As soon as Sadiq saw Dhruv on the video call, he fled the campus. But the next day, Priya's body was found, and Dhruv had reason to believe it was Sadiq's own doing.

He had almost located Sadiq, as he knew the secret base from which his gang operated. But before Dhruv could catch him, someone injected him with the same drug. Dhruv was lucky to receive medical attention in time. Although the drug didn't kill him, half of his body turned black, just like the other victims. Dhruv was determined that he wouldn't stop until he discovered who this madman was and why he was killing innocent people.

The name of the murdered victim at the beginning of the film was Ramya. Dhruv and his team interrogated Karthik, Ramya's boyfriend, who had dropped her off at her house that day. They then found security camera footage, where they observed a man wearing a hoodie, acting very suspiciously, in the same location. It didn't take long for Dhruv to discover that this boy's name was Tamilarivu and that he was a professional swimmer training for an upcoming state meet. It was actually pure luck that Dhuv found out about Arivu.

Ramya, at the time of her murder, was wearing a locket that her boyfriend had given her. Days later, Dhruv saw that someone had drawn the same design on the rearview mirror of a dusty car. Dhruv thought it couldn't be a coincidence, so he called the forensic team to find out if there were any fingerprints on the vehicle. That's how Arivu was caught, and it emerged that he was facing charges related to the use of prohibited drugs.

Arivu was arrested, as Dhruv had reason to believe he was the murderer. He said he desperately wanted to forget his ex-girlfriend, so he had to take certain medication. He said he suffered from a strange condition such that, from birth to the present, he remembered every detail. He told Dhruv that although his girlfriend was also named Ramya, she was not the murdered girl. Ramya wanted to go to America and have Arivu move in with her.

He told her he couldn't do that as he needed to take care of his sister, Akhila, and also become a swimming champion and get a government job. Ramya's boss had proposed to her, and although she had no intention of accepting him, after her argument with Arivu, she decided to go ahead. At first, Dhruv didn't believe him, but he was shocked when he ran tests. The doctor told Dhruv that Arivu's mind was not like others'. Even the doctors didn't have answers as to how he could remember every tiny detail, even from when he was just one year old. In addition to remembering everything that happened to him, Arivu could also use his powers to see things where he wasn't physically present. It was as if he could connect with a higher power by submerging himself in water and holding his breath for almost 30 minutes.

Through astral projection, he could trace past events. So, although he didn't know where the killer had taken Ramya, he was able to follow her car and find out the exact details. At first, Dhruv believed it was just his imagination, but it wasn't. He compared what Arivu had told him with the information he had in the database, and to his surprise, they matched. Arivu had always been curious about the idea of astral projection and felt that, when he was just one year old, something strange had happened to him when he entered the local well. He felt he could connect with his subconscious. Personally, I believe Arivu was the chosen one, as no meditation or practice should have granted him that power.

There was a cosmologist named Dr. Shalini who became the killer's next victim. The local police made no progress, but Arivu's astral projections led him inside the safe house where the killer had been hiding for many days. The walls of the entire apartment were painted black, drugs were stored in the refrigerator, and the notebook where the killer recorded all his murders was located. Arivu's astral projection detected a copy of Time magazine on the table, and on the cover was a photo of a girl who was likely one of Dr. Shalini's patients. The cover story, in that particular issue, was about Dr. Shalini. Since the photograph of the girl on the cover was scribbled on with a ballpoint pen, Dhruv speculated that this unknown girl was likely the psychopathic killer's next target.

Dhruv discovered that the girl's name was Vennila and, coincidentally, she was an aspiring actress. Dhruv asked his team to keep a constant watch on her. Vennila had entered the entertainment industry by chance. She was working as a receptionist at a pharmacy when Ramya's boyfriend, Karthik, noticed her. He took pictures of her and showed them to a film director named Rajesh. Rajesh decided to shoot a pilot with Vennila, as he found her extremely attractive. Rajesh suggested she get laser surgery to lighten her skin tone. Vennila agreed, and that's how she met Dr. Shalini. But things didn't go as she would have liked. Dr. Shalini used her photo for the cover of Time magazine.

Rajesh didn't like it and, to make matters worse, had to fire Vennila, as the producer's daughter wanted to be in the film. Vennila was deeply hurt, but there was nothing she could do about it. At the end of Maargan, Dhruv had something of an epiphany. He didn't remember her well, but he knew he had seen Vennila before. After reviewing her footage, he realized he'd seen her with Sadiq, the criminal who was at his daughter's college and trying to intimidate the students. Dhruv put the pieces together and deduced that Vennila wasn't the next victim, but the killer who had killed everyone. Just as Vennila was about to inject the same drug into the producers' daughter, Dhurv shot her, and I think she died from her injuries. But the question remained: What did she have to do with Dhurv's daughter? Why did he kill Ramya? And what had Shalini done to her that made her take her own life too?

Vennila realized that even Karthik was racially prejudiced and only liked certain types of girls. She told Karthik that if he dated any of them in the future, she would definitely kill them. Karthik started dating Ramya, and as soon as Vennila found out about her, she attacked her. Vennila thought her life would finally return to normal. When she received an offer to star in a film, she underwent skin-lightening treatments and that's when she realized she wasn't going to be in it. She also learned that the doctor, without her permission, had released her picture for the article praising her work that was to be published in Time magazine.

Dr. Shalini irritated her so much that she decided to kill her too. Vennila would have killed the producer's daughter too if Dhruv hadn't intervened. You could say that Vennila was a victim of the racial discrimination that exists in this country. White is good and black is bad; A poor man will always have dark skin, while a rich man will always have light skin. All of these prejudices affected Vennila. I mean, a country that had been occupied by colonial powers for over two centuries should have known better. Vennila was furious to the core, and that was the reason she persecuted all those innocent people. She couldn't distinguish right from wrong, as she only sought revenge against the prejudiced society. She met her fateful end, probably as she deserved, but that didn't mean society was absolved of all its sins.

They're all vying for the same thing: critical acclaim, huge box office revenue, or a sudden surge in streaming subscribers thanks to established fandoms. But it's a long shot: Will they become a "Borderlands" movie flop or a "Last of Us" hit? Next month, Legendary Entertainment, Warner Bros. Pictures, and Microsoft are going for box office gold with a different kind of game-to-movie adaptation: "A Minecraft Movie." Director: Jared Hess Writers: Chris Bowman, Hubbel Palmer, Neil Widener Stars: Jennifer Coolidge, Jason Momoa, Emma Myers For the uninitiated, Microsoft-owned "Minecraft" is a sandbox game that immerses players in the Overworld, a whimsical dimension made up of blocky, box-like voxels. Straw 2025 Movie Review Trailer Poster

The prolific creator's latest film is a typically melodramatic, yet powerful and relevant, depiction of the systemic miseries that drive a hapless heroine into a police standoff. Even die-hard fans of the tireless Tyler Perry sometimes wish he'd slow down a bit and focus on quality over quantity. But Netflix's "Straw" possesses a cultural urgency that elevates it above its usual repertoire of melodramatic comedies and dramas, despite its flaws. Starring Taraji P. Henson as a single mother burdened with more crises than one woman can handle in one day—resulting in a "Dog Day Afternoon"-style hostage situation—"Straw" exhibits the usual flaws of its writer-director-producer. Director: Tyler Perry Writer: Tyler Perry Stars: Taraji P. Henson, Sherri Shepherd, Teyana Taylor It's overloaded with plot devices, histrionics, and in-your-face messages, with an overabundance of everything. Yet what breaks the camel's back for this subdued heroine ...
