We Were Liars 2025 Tv Series Season 2 Review Trailer Poster

The season 1 finale of "We Were Liars" spectacularly wrapped up Cadence Sinclair's story arc and gave her the closure she'd longed for. However, the final shot of the Prime Video series suggested that there are still some issues left to address, suggesting the possibility of a second season of "We Were Liars," though the renewal will depend primarily on viewership figures, which will determine the show's success or failure. So, while the future of the series is quite uncertain at the moment, it shouldn't stop us from theorizing about what we can expect, especially since the final episode left us with a lot to ponder.

The first season of the series is based on the psychological thriller of the same name by E. Lockhart. After the massive success of "We Were Liars," he wrote a prequel titled "Liars' Family" to shed some light on the Sinclair family's history. The prequel book focuses on the eldest daughter, Carrie, who, while speaking with the ghost of her deceased son, Johnny, reminisces about her sixteenth and seventeenth summers on Beechwood Island, revealing some disturbing secrets about her family.

Based on the shocking ending of We Were Liars' first season, I think it's logical to assume that in the next season, Carrie will speak with the ghost of her Johnny, just like in the prequel book, in order to bring closure to her son's tragic death. But this is just the tip of the iceberg, so to speak, so let me speculate about everything we can expect from We Were Liars' second season.

In the We Were Liars finale, while grieving the loss of her daughter, Mirren, and obsessing over the things she could have done differently to save her from such a fate, Bess recalled an incident from her past, from her sixteenth summer, where the Sinclair sisters committed an unforgivable sin. Bess told her older sister, Carrie, that maybe losing their children was punishment for what they did in their teens. But Bess wasn't sure, because if it really was their punishment, then her sister Penny wouldn't have been spared.

Well, what she was trying to say was that they committed the act in question together, and therefore should have been punished equally, which meant Penny should have lost her daughter, Cady, too. But she didn't. To be honest, the creators only included this brief but sinister conversation between Bess and Carrie to suggest that the second season will further explore their unspeakable offense on Beechwood Island, which haunts the sisters to this day. Besides, in the book, Carrie was turning sixteen when this incident occurred, so I guess they're changing a few things. And to avoid giving away too many spoilers, the reason Carrie seemed more uncomfortable than Bess was because Carrie was still struggling with that haunting memory.

Again, it was Bess who mentioned her younger sister, Rosemary, several times in the first season, likely suggesting that she hadn't yet been able to completely forget her like the rest of the family. This is another departure from the book, because in "Family of Liars," it was Carrie who couldn't get over Rosemary's tragic death, who drowned on the island when Carrie was sixteen. I assume the writers will focus the second season of We Were Liars on Bess's sixteenth summer, not Carrie's. Either way, it's clear that the second season will shed more light on the youngest daughter's tragic death and how it affected the Sinclair family.

Throughout the first season, Gat Patil, the outsider, tried to address the island's dark past, but no one was very interested in hearing his tales of colonial history. However, the second book in the series deals with how Harris's ancestors bought the island from its native owners and established the legacy of their empire. It even explored the history of the Sinclairs and how they became so wealthy.

At the end of We Were Liars, Harris told Cady, his eldest granddaughter, that he had decided to retire from public life in his prime, not wanting the world to remember him as an old and weak man. He had been diagnosed with dementia and wasn't sure how much longer he could hold out, so he wanted his heir, Cady, to take over the family reins and lead the Sinclairs after his death. However, to his surprise, Cady refused to take over the family empire. She didn't even want to be a Sinclair anymore.

Instead, she had decided to build her own legacy, which obviously raises the question: who will sit on the Sinclair throne after Harris's death? He doesn't trust Bess's husband, and his children are too young to be left such a vast empire. Similarly, Carrie's surviving son, Will, isn't mature enough to involve himself in such matters, and Harris wouldn't leave his kingdom to Ed, an Indian. So, like the rest of you, I'm also clueless, but I'm sure we'll find out more about the future of the Sinclair legacy next season. However, if you ask me, I think Harris will choose Penny. Well, it's not that Penny is the tidiest sister; however, she managed to keep her secrets pretty well hidden, which makes me think Harris might consider her a worthy successor, because in the end, that's all he wanted: to protect the family image at all costs.

As I said before, I think the entire second season will focus on Carrie, both young and old, and therefore, it's possible we'll learn more about her relationship with Ed and see whether or not the couple gets married. Before Harris ruined their relationship, Carrie and Ed were planning to have children together, so perhaps now that Harris has at least allowed Carrie to see Ed, he'll even allow them to have children—if Harris survives that long, of course. With the old man already losing his memory, I don't think he'll be able to control his daughter for much longer. I mean, they're not as cruel as he is, so they'll take care of him until their last breath, but once he's gone, nothing will stop them from living their lives their way. They've spent their entire lives living in the shadow of their mother and father, and perhaps in the end, these three daughters will finally get a taste of freedom.

In the We Were Liars finale, Penny also decided to confront her daughter and tell her a secret from her past: the real reason Cady's father abandoned her mother. Throughout the first season, Cady blamed her father, Sam Eastman, for cheating on her mother, but it turned out it was Penny who had been having an affair for a long time before Sam decided to separate from her. This mysterious lover didn't appear in the first season, though I assume "they" have been mentioned twice, which makes me think we might see them visiting the island next season. If Harris survives that long, his expression will be memorable (pun intended).

So, those are all the plotlines I'm expecting from We Were Liars season 2, although I'm almost certain I've barely scratched the surface. If you have anything to add, please feel free to use the comments below and share your expectations or theories for season 2. In the We Were Liars finale, Harris told Cady, his eldest granddaughter, that he had decided to retire from public life in his prime, not wanting the world to remember him as an old, weak man. Letterkenny veteran Jacob Tierney wrote and directed the six-part series about two rising hockey stars who fall passionately in love. Sidney Crosby and Alexander Ovechkin entered the NHL in 2005. For more than 20 years, the Canadian star and his Russian counterpart have waged one of the greatest rivalries in the sport. Dhurandhar's story unfolds against the backdrop of significant terrorist attacks in India, focusing particularly on harrowing incidents such as the hijacking of flight IC-814 in Kandahar in 1999, the Parliament attack in 2001, and the devastating 26/11 Mumbai attacks in 2008. Kantara A Legend: Chapter 1 2025 Movie Review Trailer Poster

The ending of Kantara: Chapter 1 returns us to the original film, a sequence in which young Shiva wonders what happened to the well that physically existed there many years ago, when the Naga tribe lived in harmony with nature, only to be forced to endure the invasion and destruction of the land they were supposed to protect.  The film is a winding tale of three cultures, two of which seem to drive the story about class and greed similarly to the original film; however, the third element is the Kadapa tribe, a people who seek to appropriate the power of the deities for themselves rather than worship them. At its core, it's a film about unity. It's about bringing people together to merge tradition with contemporary ideology. Kantara: Chapter 1 takes us directly into the heart of the Bangra Kingdom, a prosperous state with trade and all modern amenities, but with a powerful and greedy king.
