We also have a lot of information about who will be making guest appearances, what kind of enemies will appear out of nowhere, and much more. The closer we get, the more we know, and it all sounds fascinating, especially since one episode is shaping up to be particularly terrifying.
We've scoured time and space to get all the details on Doctor Who's second season, including the exact release date, all the plot details, the cast, and, of course, all the trailers. Here's everything you need to know about the Doctor and his flying police box.
Disney and the BBC revealed on Wednesday that a new adventure across time and space will premiere on April 12 at 12:00 AM PT/3:00 AM ET on Disney+ in the US and on BBC and BBC iPlayer in the UK. Thereafter, new episodes of the eight-part season will air weekly.
In Gatwa's second season as the Doctor, he will be joined by his new companion Belinda Chandra (Varada Sethu), as well as Ruby Sunday (Millie Gibson), who starred in the first season. According to the synopsis for the new season, "The Doctor meets Belinda Chandra and sets out on an epic adventure to bring her back to Earth. But a mysterious force halts their return, and the time-traveling TARDIS crew must face greater dangers, bigger enemies, and broader terrors than ever before.”
“The Traitors” host Cumming will guest-star in the second episode of the season as Mr. Ring-a-Ding, a “jolly, funny, singer-songwriter animated character who lives in Sunny Town with his friend Sunshine Sally,” according to a press release. “However, in 1952, after years of reruns in cinemas across the country, Mr. Ring-a-Ding suddenly looks beyond the screen and sees the real world outside—and the consequences are terrifying.” This marks Cumming’s return to the Whoniverse after playing King James I in the 2018 episode “The Witchfinders.”
