“Hans Zimmer & Friends: Diamond in the Desert,” a concert film shot in Dubai that also includes documentary interviews with some of the stars and filmmakers with whom the composer has worked, will hit theaters worldwide beginning March 19, Trafalgar Releasing announced Wednesday.

The majority of the 158-minute film will consist of footage of Zimmer, his band, and orchestra performing selections from films such as “Dune,” “The Lion King,” “Gladiator,” and “Interstellar,” in venues including the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai and the Al Wasl Plaza dome at Expo City Dubai.
Director: Paul Dugdale
Stars: Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Christopher Nolan
Not all of the film's protagonists traveled to Dubai, as the film also includes interviews with figures such as Billie Eilish, Finneas and Johnny Marr (who worked with Zimmer on "No Time to Die"), Christopher Nolan, Jerry Bruckheimer, Pharrell Williams, Tanya Lapointe, and "Dune" stars Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, and Denis Villeneuve.
Paul Dugdale directed the film and is one of the executive producers. He has directed 14 musical films released in theaters to date. His more than 100 projects for film, streaming, and television include “Coldplay Music of the Spheres,” “Elton John Live: Farewell From Dodger Stadium,” “Adele: One Night Only,” “Raye at the Royal Albert Hall,” “The 100th: Billy Joel at Madison Square Garden,” “An Evening With Dua Lipa,” and “Taylor Swift: Reputation Stadium Tour.”
Simon Fisher, Steven Kofsky, Michael Marto, Omar Saab, and John Featherstone produced the film. Trafalgar will release it in all markets except the Middle East, where it will be distributed by Vox.
“The Hans Zimmer Live tour has been one of the most exciting experiences of my career,” said Zimmer, “and I’m thrilled to bring it to moviegoing audiences around the world with Diamond in the Desert. Watching these compositions transform from their big-screen origins to a live performance and then back again is a wonderful full-circle moment.” I hope audiences enjoy this behind-the-scenes look as much as we enjoyed creating it.
Other Trafalgar film releases include concert films by Taylor Swift (international distribution of the "Eras Tour" film), Beyoncé, BTS, Metallica, Oasis, Coldplay, and Billie Eilish.
