Briarcliff Entertainment is gearing up to distribute another action film called Valiant One, which is, as the title suggests, about a brave soldier who is now in charge of leading a group of soldiers out of North Korea. Briarcliff has distributed several action films including Honest Thief (2020), Copshop (2021), Blacklight (2022), and more.
When I first heard about the Valiant One film, I was immediately intrigued by its gripping plot and powerful themes of courage and survival. With a rich family history of military service, the premise of a U.S. Army team navigating impossible odds struck a personal chord. While this is a sponsored post on behalf of Review Wire Media for Briarcliff Entertainment, it contains my thoughts and opinions on a film I am very interested in seeing.
Director: Steve Barnett
Writers: Steve Barnett, Daniel Myrick, Eric Tipton
Stars: Chase Stokes, Lana Condor, Desmin Borges
Based on real-life events and starring Chase Stokes and Lana Condor, the film promises to deliver not only fast-paced action but also a deep exploration of resilience and leadership. It’s the kind of story I’m excited to share with my audiences, offering a cinematic experience that goes beyond entertainment to honor the spirit of those who serve.
The fast-paced intensity of Valiant One is exactly what’s bringing me to the theater this January 31st. A military thriller grounded in the raw tension of survival, the film promises to deliver a gripping narrative filled with danger and courage. The idea of a routine mission turning into a fight for survival in North Korea immediately sets the stage for edge-of-your-seat action. Captain Edward Brockman and Specialist Selby must navigate not only hostile terrain but also the psychological strain of being cut off from all support – a premise that’s as emotionally compelling as it is thrilling.
The casting of Chase Stokes and Lana Condor adds an extra layer of excitement. Stokes has captivated audiences with her charisma and intensity in Outer Banks, while Condor’s nuanced performances in To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before showcase her ability to bring heart and courage to her roles. Together, their dynamic has a unique blend of chemistry and tension as their characters lead the team through the unforgiving Demilitarized Zone. Watching them face relentless challenges while building trust in extraordinary circumstances will certainly be a riveting experience.
What adds to the film’s intrigue is that it is inspired by a true story, which grounds its breathtaking action in the realm of reality. The story of survival unfolds against the backdrop of one of the world’s most precarious geopolitical regions, weaving human resilience and tactical ingenuity into the narrative. I’m eager to see how the film explores themes of leadership, perseverance, and the unbreakable human spirit amidst the chaos of war. Valiant One feels like more than just a movie – it’s a heart-wrenching journey that I can’t wait to experience on the big screen.
The film is directed by Steve Barnett, who also co-wrote and co-produced the film. Barnett has previously been involved in commercially successful films such as Zack Snyder's 300, Mark Waters' The Spiderwick Chronicles, and others. He also served as an executive producer on George A. Romero's Land of the Dead.
Although most of the film's events are shown in North Korea, principal photography took place in Vancouver, Canada. The region has a canopy cover of 23 percent, and most of it is temperate rainforest, making it clear from the trailer why the creators chose the location to film.
