This is a very nice film, but it falls short of being brilliant. The film traces the journey of Shrikanth Bolla, a blind person but with great courage and vigour. He is a person who is not interested in getting pity for his disability. He is a person who believes that he can do everything.
Rajkumar Rao as Srikanth is fantastic. He completely gets into Srikanth's character and gives an authentic and natural performance. Some of his dialogues can make you laugh, while others make you emotional. The good thing about the film is that it doesn't get boring at any point thanks to an interesting narrative style and some amazing moments from Srikanth.

Jyothika, who has just delivered a terrific performance in Shaitaan, shines even more in this film as Srikanth's guardian. Her character can represent a greater range than in Shaitaan. Sharad Kelkar also does a good job, while the others have also done a fabulous job (at least Aleya F gets a better role here than in her awful previous film, BMCM).
However, there are problems. In an attempt to keep the film to just 2 hours and 15 minutes, the makers have rushed through all the chapters of Srikanth’s life. They don’t let any sequence or scene settle in your mind properly. Because of this, the film won’t actually leave a lasting impact on you. I almost felt like I was watching the highlights of Srikanth’s life.
The second half also goes downhill when Srikanth gets involved in politics. All those parts felt a bit half-baked. However, the film comes alive in the climax. In fact, a lot of things in this film are dealt with in a way that is too generic, almost showing Srikanth ending up winning at every place.
The song PAPA KEHTE HAI works really well in the film. The remaining songs are just okay and are only there to serve Srikanth’s romantic purpose.
Overall, it’s a good film and you can easily watch it in the theatre.
