Atlas 2024 Movie Review Trailer Poster

The movie starts off great. We have a police officer who is frustrated with her life, she is an emotional wreck, heavily addicted to coffee and falls asleep on the couch regularly, living the lifestyle of a bachelor. So your typical 80s and early 90s crime movie starts out but with a PG-13 rating.

Our protagonist, Atlas, is also a little reckless, hyperintelligent, she doesn't like to follow the rules, she is distrustful and she is a little clumsy. I really liked this Hollywood trope and had never seen this type of character given to a female lead. He made the old trope fresher.

Director: Brad Peyton
Writers: Leo Sardarian, Aron Eli Coleite
Stars: Jennifer Lopez, Simu Liu, Sterling K. Brown

I hate to say this, but this movie is a missed opportunity for a great science fiction movement. But it's sort of divided into two parts. On the one hand, it is true science fiction and, on the other, it is a pure action movie. And much of this action could have been removed to explore more scientific themes.

For those who like a character-driven plot, you might like this movie. Our protagonist is forced to undertake an extremely dangerous mission and, to save her life and fulfill her life's mission, she has to learn to trust an artificial intelligence robot and grow as a person.

There are some serious problems in this movie, with how the technology works, based on the information given to the audience, and some very derivative scenes designed to keep the character's narrative moving forward... but it's a movie, not a book.

I looked at some reviews and was very surprised by the hate towards Jenifer López. I've never been into pop culture and didn't realize who the lead was until I looked at the cast list on IMBD. Personally I think she did a great job, she looked great with the new hairstyle and played a different character. She is very nice. So my point is that I have no idea why so many critics despise her... Maybe she made some insensitive comments in pop literature? I just do not know.

Overall, it could have been a very serious sci-fi movie, but the direction opted for an action movie. So grab a beer or a bottle of wine, put aside your thinking cap, and enjoy the beautiful ride.

The Acolyte 2024 Tv Series Review Trailer Poster

There are three main types of Star Wars stories. There's the kind where you write whatever you want and call it Star Wars, common in the many novels published in the 1990s. There's the kind where you recycle existing Star Wars stories and make them familiar; this has been the primary way of doing things at Disney. But finally, there are the stories that enthusiastically use Star Wars as a setting to create something new. There have been several novels that fit that profile, as did the first season of Andor, and now, four episodes in, it looks like the new Star Wars series The Acolyte, set a century before the movies, also fits the bill. in that category. . The Acolyte centers on a pair of twins, Osha and Mae (both played by Amandla Stenberg). The girls were raised by an unaffiliated coven of Force users, but despite living outside the Republic, the Jedi, including Carrie-Ann Moss's Indara, stuck their noses into these women's affairs, leading to the disaster.
