According to the official synopsis, in the final season, Hilda is "drawn into a mystical realm that will lead her to a deeper understanding of the hidden history of her family and long-buried truths about herself." The eight-episode third season concludes with a 70-minute series finale.
Ramsey believes that ending Hilda's journey at this time is the right decision. She expresses: “I think many series make the mistake of lasting too long and doing too many seasons and then history repeats itself over and over again. So I think it's the perfect time to conclude. And that could be a really beautiful, concise three-season thing.”
Acknowledging her bittersweet feelings, Ramsey told IGN: “All the loose ends are tied up and it's time for it to end, which obviously makes me sad because I've been doing Hilda since I was very young. But I do think it's the right decision."
The official synopsis promises revelations about Hilda's family history this season, introducing the new character, Hilda's great-aunt Astrid, voiced by Miriam Margolyes OBE, known for her role as Professor Pomona Sprout in the Harry films. Potter.
Ramsey notes the connection between Hilda and Aunt Astrid, describing them as “kindred spirits” and expressing, “She's just a cool, weird old lady, and I think Hilda will be like that in the future. Yes, I think Aunt Astrid and Hilda are more or less the same person, just a few generations apart.”
Reflecting on her journey with the show, Ramsey hopes fans of this “feel-good show” find satisfaction in how the series concludes. “It has meant a lot to so many people. I mean, having people come up to me and say, 'Oh, I saw Hilda.' Like people you would never expect to watch the show. So I just hope that people feel joy about this and I think, like it has for the rest of the seasons, I just hope that this ends on a high note for everyone and that people feel satisfied with the story and how it ended. . And yes, everyone is where they should be and everything was resolved.”
Co-produced by Sony Pictures Television – Kids and Mercury Films, the third and final season of Hilda debuts on Netflix on December 7.
