In search of her breakthrough moment, ambitious reporter Katie (played by Brittany Underwood) arranges a Christmas interview with a European prince visiting the United States. What begins as a strategic move for her career soon transforms into a touching love story.

Katie, driven by her determination to get his attention, seizes an opportunity when the main anchor at her station, played by Meredith Thomas, takes a break during the Christmas holidays. Persuading producer Jerrod (played by William Baldwin) to take a chance on her, Katie sets her sights on European Prince Jonathan (Jonathan Stoddard) and successfully convinces him to grant her an exclusive interview. Despite Jerrod's initial reluctance to trust a journalist, Katie's relentless tenacity eventually convinces him to greenlight the interview, presenting Katie with the opportunity she's been longing for.

Stars: Brittany Underwood, Jonathan Stoddard, William Baldwin

The latest addition to Great American Family's 2023 Christmas movie lineup, 'A Royal Christmas Holiday' follows the familiar story of a commoner who falls in love with royalty, a beloved theme in the genre. Katie, an optimistic reporter who dreams of hosting her own show, eagerly accepts the challenge of landing an exclusive interview with Prince Jonathan. Using her journalistic skills, she locates him at an airport and persistently pursues him until she agrees to the interview.

Accompanied by his assistant Louis (Louis Chapman), Prince Jonathan acts cautiously, aware that journalists often try to uncover family secrets. As he gets to know Katie, he begins to trust her and, unbeknownst to her, lets her guard down. However, unforeseen complications arise when it becomes clear that the station he works for may have its own plans.

The narrative unfolds like a classic opposites attract story, in which the Prince develops genuine feelings for the woman who has entered his life. Along the way, there are misunderstandings, setbacks, and various obstacles, raising the question of whether Katie and the Prince could really have a future together.

Brittany Underwood shines as the undisputed star of the film, delivering a spirited performance based on heart and emotion. Although many did not know her, Underwood's performance captivates and leaves audiences eager to see more of her work in the future. She is effectively paired with Jonathan Stoddard, who, despite an occasional faltering British accent, delivers a charismatic and credible performance. William Baldwin steals scenes as Katie's beleaguered producer Jerrod, providing a charming addition to the film.

'A Royal Christmas Holiday' serves as a triumphant conclusion to this year's Christmas movie lineup. The story is full of touching moments and, while it revisits some clichés of the genre, it is still completely enjoyable. Airing just two days before Christmas, the film is the epitome of a feel-good holiday experience that warms the heart and encapsulates the spirit of the season. What more could you want?

There's the kind where you recycle existing Star Wars stories and make them familiar; this has been the primary way of doing things at Disney. But finally, there are the stories that enthusiastically use Star Wars as a setting to create something new. There have been several novels that fit that profile, as did the first season of Andor, and now, four episodes in, it looks like the new Star Wars series The Acolyte, set a century before the movies, also fits the bill. in that category. . The Acolyte centers on a pair of twins, Osha and Mae (both played by Amandla Stenberg). The girls were raised by an unaffiliated coven of Force users, but despite living outside the Republic, the Jedi, including Carrie-Ann Moss's Indara, stuck their noses into these women's affairs, leading to the disaster. As a resu...
