Under the Christmas Sky 2023 Movie Review Trailer Poster

Under The Christmas Sky may seem intense, but it's a heartfelt intensity that really resonates with us during the Countdown to Christmas season. We love movies that tug at our heartstrings and even make us shed a tear or two, and this one promises to do just that.

Adding to our excitement is the all-star cast, which includes two beloved actors, Jessica Parker Kennedy and Ryan Paevey, whom we've loved since their days on “Secret Circle” and “General Hospital.”

Director: Séan Geraughty
Writer: Kristine Huntley
Stars: Andrew Bushell, Cherrel Holder, Jessica Parker Kennedy

So what is the story behind this movie? “Under The Christmas Sky” follows the journey of Kat (played by Kennedy), a once-promising astronaut whose career was derailed by a car accident, leaving her with a blind spot. Despite her family's best efforts to lift her spirits with holiday traditions like baking cookies, decorating trees, and Christmas shopping, Kat still longs for her lost passion. That's when her brother Andy discovers an exhibit at a local planetarium and urges Kat to participate. Reluctantly, she agrees.

Kat is partnered with curator David (played by Paevey), who initially resists outside help. His collaboration involves incorporating community involvement and Christmas festivities into their planning, but their different approaches and personalities clash. However, as the magic of Christmas and their shared love of space take hold, Kat and David discover common ground and their Christmas display becomes a huge success. Riding this wave of triumph, they decide to throw a follow-up Santa party on Christmas Eve, not ready to part ways just yet.

As their collaboration comes to an end and Kat contemplates a job offer in another state, their budding connection and growing affection are tested. The future is uncertain, but with a touch of Christmas spirit, these two can find their way to happiness on Christmas Day.

Ryan Paevey, who plays David, first gained recognition as Detective Nathan West on ABC's "General Hospital" in December 2013, and quickly became a fan favorite. His departure from the program left an indelible mark on the history of soap operas. During his time on “General Hospital,” Paevey also showcased his acting talents in Hallmark Channel original movies, including “Unleashing Mr. Darcy” in 2016 and “Harvest Love” in 2017.

In 2018, he appeared in “Marrying Mr. Darcy” on Hallmark Channel and “Hope at Christmas” on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. Paevey continued to captivate audiences with roles in several Hallmark Channel movies, including “From Friend to Fiancé,” “A Summer Romance,” and “Christmas at the Plaza.” His versatility also extended to a guest role on the BET drama series “Games People Play.”

Paevey's most recent works include the Hallmark Channel Original Movie "Fourth Down In Love" and previous roles in films such as "Two Tickets to Paradise," "Matching Hearts," "A Timeless Christmas," "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" “A Little Daytime Drama” and “Christmas at Coyote Creek.”

Although Paevey's roots are in Southern California, he spent his childhood exploring the outdoors and performing far from his mind. His modeling career began as a sideline while working in construction, thanks to his striking features. In addition to his printed work, he appeared in Christina Aguilera's music video, "Your Body."

On his days off, Paevey's love of adventure takes him to uncharted territories for cliff jumping or other exciting activities. His inherent nerdy side shines through as he indulges in video games and everything related to technology. Sitting still is not an option for this dynamic actor.

A Minecraft Movie 2025 Movie Review Trailer Poster

If you were to throw a bucket in Hollywood today, you could easily find a dozen video game adaptations in development, either as TV series or movies. They're all vying for the same thing: critical acclaim, huge box office revenue, or a sudden surge in streaming subscribers thanks to established fandoms. But it's a long shot: Will they become a "Borderlands" movie flop or a "Last of Us" hit? Next month, Legendary Entertainment, Warner Bros. Pictures, and Microsoft are going for box office gold with a different kind of game-to-movie adaptation: "A Minecraft Movie." Director: Jared Hess Writers: Chris Bowman, Hubbel Palmer, Neil Widener Stars: Jennifer Coolidge, Jason Momoa, Emma Myers For the uninitiated, Microsoft-owned "Minecraft" is a sandbox game that immerses players in the Overworld, a whimsical dimension made up of blocky, box-like voxels. There's no single story or single way to play: users can craft items, build structures, ba...

The Acolyte 2024 Tv Series Review Trailer Poster

There are three main types of Star Wars stories. There's the kind where you write whatever you want and call it Star Wars, common in the many novels published in the 1990s. There's the kind where you recycle existing Star Wars stories and make them familiar; this has been the primary way of doing things at Disney. But finally, there are the stories that enthusiastically use Star Wars as a setting to create something new. There have been several novels that fit that profile, as did the first season of Andor, and now, four episodes in, it looks like the new Star Wars series The Acolyte, set a century before the movies, also fits the bill. in that category. . The Acolyte centers on a pair of twins, Osha and Mae (both played by Amandla Stenberg). The girls were raised by an unaffiliated coven of Force users, but despite living outside the Republic, the Jedi, including Carrie-Ann Moss's Indara, stuck their noses into these women's affairs, leading to the disaster. As a resu...
