 John Cena's new movie Freelance continues the wrestler-turned-actor's evolution into action hero, and here's all the news on the Freelance 2023 movie, including the cast, trailer, and release date. Cena has had a big 2023, as he appears in five films ranging from Fast In Freelance, Cena takes center stage as a skilled but somewhat worrying special forces agent, and the film could be a box office hit, especially since he's joined by GLOW star Alison Brie.


Freelance comes from director Pierre Morel, best known for directing 2008's Taken, which reinvented the Hollywood action movie at the time. Taken spawned a series of gritty action-revenge films, along with countless "Liam Neeson vs. Blank" movies. However, Freelance is very different from that historical film, since Morel has opted for a more conventional action comedy, but that does not mean that Freelance will not be just as entertaining. Freelance has an impressive cast and is packed with over-the-top action sequences and wacky comedy.

The most recent news about the Freelance 2023 movie is the new trailer. The trailer for Freelance shows how drastic Taken's change is in the upcoming release. Instead of a color palette of drab grays and blacks in decaying cities, Freelance is almost overwhelmingly colorful and set in the jungle. The action is also very different, as Freelance takes a more comedic and violent approach to the war that John Cena's character apparently finds himself in. Above all, the Freelance 2023 movie trailer shows how much chemistry Cena has with his on-screen partner Alison Brie. and Brie's comedic performance is a perfect match for the Fast X actor.


The cast includes John Cena, Alison Brie, Juan Pablo Raba and Christian Slater. It is directed by Pierre Morel, who previously directed films such as Taken and Peppermint. It is written by Jacob Lentz. Producers are Steven Richards, Renee Tab, Chris Tuffin and Chris Milburn.

The film will be released in theaters on October 27, 2023, from Relativity Media.
