Director: Ben Ketai
Writers: Ben Ketai, Mike Nguyen Le
Stars: Leighton Meester, Adam Brody, Taran Killam
The process of making the film brought the main cast closer together, as they all share a special bond. Leighton Meester and Adam Brody, who are married in real life, have worked together before, as have Taran Killam and Adam Brody, who were previously together on the ABC sitcom "Single Parents." This camaraderie created a supportive environment during the challenging filming process.
Filming took place in various scenic locations, including Hungary, Slovakia, and Bosnia, with the cast exposed to the elements, enduring heat, cold water, and fast-paced rapids. Despite the emotional challenges, having such close relationships between the cast made every moment pleasurable and comforting for Meester.
While Meester and Brody were wary of taking home the tense source material, they found that their intimacy and trust allowed them to navigate difficult scenes together. Brody gleefully admits that he enjoyed the scenes in which he had to chase Meester at full speed through the woods.
On a humorous note, Killam, married to Marvel Cinematic Universe's Cobie Smulders, mocks his wife's action movie experience, boasting about her physical preparation for the role of hers. He trained at an Olympic whitewater facility in Slovakia, which gave him an edge over her in the action department.
The new movie is a reimagining of the 1994 thriller starring Kevin Bacon and Meryl Streep. Directed by Ben Ketai, known for "StartUp" and "Chosen", this version presents a more intimate and gritty story with tension between the characters generating the drama, rather than relying solely on external circumstances.
“River Wild” promises an exciting adventure that will keep you on the edge of your seat. It will be released on Digital, Blu-ray™ and DVD on August 1, courtesy of Universal Pictures Home Entertainment. Get ready for an unforgettable and moving experience on the wild river.
