Praise Petey 2023 Tv Series Trailer Poster Online

Freeform has released the first trailer for its new adult animated comedy Praise Petey, which follows how a modern woman will handle her late father's cult.

The first two-minute look shows New Yorker and "It Girl" Petra, aka "Petey," dealing with her life turned upside down when she must move from her big-city life to a place called New Utopia. It's a community that her father founded, only she's not like most. Here, everyone is part of a cult. Even worse? They believe that Petey is her prophesied savior.

Creator: Anna Drezen
Stars: Eve Plumb, Annie Murphy, Stephen Root

“The fact that you are here means that the prophecy of the return of the great daughter is fulfilled,” says John Cho's character with a southern accent. Petey asks, before Kiersey Clemons' character replies, "No, we're starving."

But Petey doesn't want the prophecy of the returned daughter to come true. Instead, she wants to come out of this as a "boss girl" by undoing her father's hold on the desperate followers of this small-town cult. As Petey works to return her own agency to this community, she'll figure out how to find her own voice along the way.

“No more human sacrifice,” a Petey dressed in a flowery midsommar dress tells members of the New Utopia community. "I have a vision for New Utopia, and it's brilliant!"

Created by Saturday Night Live head writer Anna Drezen, Praise Petey also counts Christine Baranski and Stephen Root among its voice cast. The series is executive produced by Bandera Entertainment's Mike Judge, Greg Daniels and Dustin Davis, as well as ShadowMachine's Alex Bulkley and Corey Campodonico and Monica Padrick. Praise Petey is a 20th Television Animation production of Disney Television Studios, with animation by ShadowMachine.

Praise Petey premieres at 10 p.m. ET on July 21 on Freeform and will stream on Hulu.

There's the kind where you recycle existing Star Wars stories and make them familiar; this has been the primary way of doing things at Disney. But finally, there are the stories that enthusiastically use Star Wars as a setting to create something new. There have been several novels that fit that profile, as did the first season of Andor, and now, four episodes in, it looks like the new Star Wars series The Acolyte, set a century before the movies, also fits the bill. in that category. . The Acolyte centers on a pair of twins, Osha and Mae (both played by Amandla Stenberg). The girls were raised by an unaffiliated coven of Force users, but despite living outside the Republic, the Jedi, including Carrie-Ann Moss's Indara, stuck their noses into these women's affairs, leading to the disaster. As a resu...
