Love & Marriage: Detroit 2023 Tv Series Review Trailer Poster Online

The Love & Marriage franchise is expanding its reach to the Midwest with Love & Marriage: Detroit. Created by reality TV producer and Detroit native Carlos King, this new series will premiere on June 24 at 9 p.m. m. on OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network. The announcement was made during Warner Bros. Discovery's Upfront 2023 event at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Love & Marriage: Detroit features a vibrant group of Black community members and leaders from the resilient "Motor City." The show delves into the lives of three captivating couples, shedding light on the realities of navigating their relationships.

Stars: Kolby Harris, Kristina Bowman Smith, Russell Harris

The Harrises: Russell and Kolby Harris, married for three years with a two-year-old daughter, lead the series. In addition to being a devoted husband, Russell also runs a non-profit organization called Soar Detroit, which focuses on promoting literacy and sports in the community. Kolby, on the other hand, is a growing social media influencer, using her platform to connect with her followers. However, her growing popularity causes tension with some of the more established influencers in the group.

As Kolby navigates the influencer space, a rift forms when a collaboration opportunity arises, leaving her friend Kristina worried about joining forces. The disagreement between the two friends affects their husbands, who are also close friends, adding another layer of complexity to the story.

The Smiths: Brandon and Kristina Bowman-Smith have been married for 11 years and are blessed with two young daughters. They live in a penthouse overlooking Detroit. Kristina is a renowned fashion designer, stylist and influencer in Detroit, while Brandon is the owner of the Star Factory, an artist development program aimed at nurturing young talent aspiring to become singers and recording artists.

Marital problems plague the couple, stemming from Brandon's ambitious dream of becoming the Barry Gordy of 2023, showcasing Detroit's musical talents. However, Kristina's strong faith collides with Brandon's need to frequent clubs for his talent development business, straining their relationship. To complicate matters, Brandon is keeping a secret from his wife: he is working with new female artists in Detroit. When Kristina discovers this, chaos ensues, putting a strain on her marriage.

The Thompsons: Anthony and Dr. LaToya Thompson, married for 14 years with two children, bring their unique dynamic to Love & Marriage: Detroit. Anthony works for Live Nation, a touring company, and owns a production studio. Despite her accomplishments, LaToya, a successful sports physical therapist and owner of Opulence Wines, is the main breadwinner in her household. This reversal of traditional gender roles creates tension, especially when Anthony takes a production job in Atlanta against his wife's wishes. Eventually, LaToya puts her foot down, prompting her to return to Detroit.

Anthony also starts a men's organization, providing an outlet for men to discuss issues affecting their relationships and lives. As part of his efforts, he organizes a Men's Movement March in Detroit, inviting Marsau Scott of "Love & Marriage: Huntsville" as a guest speaker. Meanwhile, LaToya faces challenges as a black woman in the predominantly white wine business. Disagreements erupt when Anthony implies that she played an important role in building her wine company, leading to further complications in her relationship.

Love & Marriage: Detroit promises to captivate viewers with its compelling cast, intriguing storylines, and exploration of contemporary relationship dynamics. Set against the backdrop of resilient Detroit, the show uncovers the complexities of love, marriage, and the pursuit of individual dreams.

They're all vying for the same thing: critical acclaim, huge box office revenue, or a sudden surge in streaming subscribers thanks to established fandoms. But it's a long shot: Will they become a "Borderlands" movie flop or a "Last of Us" hit? Next month, Legendary Entertainment, Warner Bros. Pictures, and Microsoft are going for box office gold with a different kind of game-to-movie adaptation: "A Minecraft Movie." Director: Jared Hess Writers: Chris Bowman, Hubbel Palmer, Neil Widener Stars: Jennifer Coolidge, Jason Momoa, Emma Myers For the uninitiated, Microsoft-owned "Minecraft" is a sandbox game that immerses players in the Overworld, a whimsical dimension made up of blocky, box-like voxels. There's no single story or single way to play: users can craft items, build structures, ba...

The Hunting Wives 2025 Tv Series Review Trailer Poster

Netflix has become a haven for shows about small towns rocked by crime. Last week, we premiered Untamed, where the residents of a town in Yosemite National Park became embroiled in a murder mystery after a girl fell from El Capitan. The show dealt heavily with grief, suicidal tendencies, abusive men, and the colonialists' negative feelings toward the Indigenous community. The Glass Dome told the story of a criminal psychologist who returned to her hometown to attend her stepmother's funeral and found herself involved in investigating a series of murders seemingly connected to her past.  Hound's Hill centered on a Polish author who returned to his hometown to come to terms with a crime he may have committed, only to discover that a serial killer is on the loose, killing the perpetrators—and his name could be next on the list. So, yes, when I watched The Hunting Wives, I completely understood why Netflix bought the rights to this show. What confuses me is, who is this series ...
