Now there is no shortage of criminal dramas in the OTT space. Almost every two days, we can see different aspects of the criminal world that are explored by filmmakers, which allows us to enjoy them from their perspective. If you ask me, this is a genre that has been oversatured in recent years, but occasionally you find a show or a movie in this genre that shakes you to the center.
Saas Bahu Aur Flamingo does not fall in the last category, but surely began with that intention. Created by Homi Adajania, this eight -episodic show is an original of Disney Hotstar that these are women and the control they have about a crime union that has been happening for years, without knowing many. How long will women achieve to maintain their secret lives away from the attention center?
Stars: Dimple Kapadia, Isha Talwar, Radhika Madan
Saas Bahu Aur Flamingo begins with Bijli, one of the key characters of the program, leaving a high profile party after making sure your product, flamenco, reaches customers. The woman arrives in her hometown of Hastipur in the state of Rann Pradesh, modeled after a certain state full of desserts in our country, where Bijli lives with her sisters -in -law, Kajal and Shanta. His boss is Savitri, Kajal and Bijli and Shanta's mother. The entire drug union in western India, known as the gold ring, is operated by Savitri, known with love as Rani Ba.
The woman supplies cocaine under the appearance of selling crafts and herbs through her company, Rani Cooperative. The system has been happening for years, and no obstacle as such would hinder its hierarchy chain in the narcotics business. Flamingo is the name of the medication they supply, and so far, it has been its best -selling product. What can go wrong? All kinds of things could. The drug unions of the eastern and southern parties of India are deeply affected by the success of Flamingo, and the monk, a drug king as powerful as Savitri, wants to end their business.
The biggest point of sale of Saas Bahu Aur Flamingo is that Savitri's business was initiated by women, and years later, women who run the program, including Kajal, Bijli and Shanta. Kajal manages the sales part together with keeping the workers under control; Bijli makes the accounts and the management of the money that enters and leaves; And Shanta is the one who understands the general components of flamenco. The boss has kept her children, Harish and Kapil, far from this danger life. Initially, their children had no connection with the world in which their mother lived. What would happen if he found out about the fact that his mother is a drug supplier and not a craft entrepreneur?
Savitri must now decide who will take care of his business, and is interested in choosing the appropriate heir to the massive union he has created. She has decided to announce to her heir the day of Janashtami. Like any other dysfunctional family, it also enters a frenzy and is hungry for the power that entails being the head of the union. Impressing Savitri would be one thing, but thinking about the future of the business is another. How will Savitri choose, with love as Rani Ba, will you choose your heir? Is this your plan to discover some horrible secrets about your family?
Homi Adajania came up with a fairly ingenious story of the largest union in the country that was administered by women, and these women would go to any extent to safeguard their livelihood. I am not sure if it is based on some real history of our country, but it helps to understand the power that Savitri has about the women he hires. These women are not different from any other drug union. They want your business to remain independently from whoever executes it and want to ensure that your circle remains tight, and nothing is filtered about the work that has been happening for years. But behind all this wealth and power is the story of a dysfunctional family where each member of the family has their reasons for being able to want after Savitri falls. Savitri, for what it seems, also had the dream of leading his life in a certain way, but Destiny had other plans for her. With glory and power in his hands, now he would like to live his life for herself and not fight for survival, as he has been doing for decades.
What Homi Adajania had right is that black humor is in layers wonderfully with narrative and script. None of that seems forced in any way. The constant jokes between the brothers Harish and Kapil, who are always at two edges of the spectrum, Harish is astonished from the treasure he has discovered, but Kapil is disgusted from seeing that power is erratically used, something that man does not he's accustomed.
