A couple of weeks ago, the title of the new Ninjago series: Dragons Rising was revealed. The series will arrive, along with new sets, on June 1 in most parts of the world, though it may take a bit longer for other locations. – July 1 in Australia for example.
In the series we see the result of the Mergequake: realms previously seen in Ninjago, as well as others not seen to date, come together to present a new world, with some familiar aspects. The series will focus on two new characters: Sora and Arin, along with a baby dragon named Riyu.

This will be a great opportunity for Ninjago-Curious to enter the world, with no prior canon knowledge required to watch the show, though the creative team assured us in a roundtable discussion a few weeks ago that there will be plenty of tidbits to keep everyone happy. longtime fans of the show.
I'll post some of the highlights from the roundtable, where the creative team discussed the new series, as well as the new sets, later in the week. Today, it's all about the new sets. While our old ninjas aren't front and center in the new show, they are prominent in the new settings, alongside new heroes and a new faction of villains: the Empire.
There's even a new Sphere item, which is used in a variety of ways: providing the sliding surface for the new spinners; allowing race cars to mount spin attacks and providing a power source/form of attack for larger Dragon models.
