Peacock has released a trailer for his new series "Bupkis," starring Pete Davidson and based on his life. The show represents Davidson's unique worldview through a combination of grounded storytelling and unfiltered absurd elements in its eight half-hour episodes. The trailer features tabloid headlines about Davidson and a clip of him saying, "People think I'm a joke for some reason," followed by a scene of Joe Pesci's character cruelly telling his on-screen grandson that "They think I You're a Joke because you're a joke Who wouldn't want to take a peek inside the mind of Pete Davidson?
Following a brief glimpse of Pesci and Davidson, the trailer proceeds to show a high-energy montage of Davidson alongside numerous guest stars. Whether these actors are portraying themselves or characters based on real people from Davidson's life, similar to Pesci and Edie Falco, remains to be seen, as viewers will have to wait for the premiere to find out. The briefly introduced all-star lineup includes John Mulaney, Steve Buscemi, Bobby Cannavale, Ray Romano, Jon Stewart, Sebastian Stan, Kenan Thompson and Machine Gun Kelly.
Davidson has appeared in various productions including "Bodies Bodies Bodies," "The King of Staten Island," and "The Dirt." He was part of the cast of “Saturday Night Live” for eight seasons from 2014 to 2022. In addition, “Saturday Night Live” creator Lorne Michaels is executive producing “Bupkis” alongside Davidson. The actor also has upcoming projects in the works, including "Transformers: Rise of the Beasts," "Dumb Money," "The Home," and "Wizards."
The “Bupkis” show is produced by Universal Television and Broadway Video, with Judah Miller, known for his work on “The King of Staten Island” and “Crashing,” serving as executive producer, writer and executive producer. Additionally, the series is co-executive and written by Davidson and Dave Sirus, while Michaels, Andrew Singer, and Erin David also serve as executive producers.
