Based on Bentley Little's 2015 novel of the same name, the eight-episode series revolves around Regus Patoff (Waltz), a consultant hired to improve business at gaming company CompWare. 2023 is the year for streaming platforms because while many people are very focused on going to the theater to see movies like Oppenheimer or Barbie, some just want to kick back and relax for the majority of their viewing experience. This trend started during the pandemic but has continued even after that, spawning several movies and shows on streaming platforms like Netflix, Prime Video, Hulu, and Apple TV. Today, however, we're here to talk about the upcoming workplace thriller with a dash of dark humor, The Consultant. We will talk about the next series, but the first thing you should know is that The Consultant is based on the novel written by Bentley Little. If you haven't heard of Bentley Little, we recommend reading some of his books like The Handyman, The Haunted, The Mailman and of course The Consultant.
Bentley Little has a unique style of storytelling and we hope that translates to the screen because The Consultant is truly a gem and would make a perfect and very interesting series. The Consultant will be created by Tony Basgallop, a British television writer best known for his work Servant, Inside Men, To the Ends of the Earth and What Remains.
“The Consultant” is from MGM Television and Amazon Studios. Creator and showrunner Tony Basgallop serves as executive producer alongside Waltz, Matt Shakman, Steve Stark and Andrew Mittman, while Kai Dolbashian produces.
“The Consultant” premieres February 24 on Prime Video.
