Thunivu is a Tamil action thriller film written and directed by H Vinoth. The film features Ajith Kumar in the lead role, along with Manju Warrier, Samuthirakani, John Kokken, Premkumar, Veera and Cibi Chandran in pivotal roles, with many other supporting characters.
The film was produced by Boney Kapoor under the banners of Bayview Projects and Zee Studios. Red Giant Movies will distribute this film in India and Lyca Productions is handling global distribution.

Ajith Kumar's character is presented as a one man army. He has taken people hostage in a bank. The police are seen trying to determine his identity in the trailer for Thunivu. But it is a mystery that will slowly unfold. The movie looks action packed and Ajith's appearance stands out. The white beard and white hair look of him is sure to be liked by the audience. After the success of his last two films with H Vinoth, Ajith returns to him once more with a promising film. It will be interesting to witness the clash with Varisu on the occasion of Pongal. Ghibran's music promises.
Ghibran composed the music for the film, as well as the background score. Anirudh Ravichander, Ghibran, Vaisakh G, Shabir and Manju Warrier sang a song in this film with lyrics by Vaisakh G, Shabir and Viveka. Every dance in this movie was choreographed by master Kalyan. Nirav Shah was in charge of photography and editing of the film was handled by Vijay Velukutty.
The plot of Thunivu which is an action thriller is that a criminal mastermind and his crew come up with a strategy and rob banks in Chennai but the motive of their bank robberies is still unknown.
A heist thriller based on a true incident that was motivated by the Punjab Bank robbery in 1987. Vinoth's script will fill the theater with applause from fans with this short statement. It would be the firm's third partnership after Nerkonda Paarvai (2019) and Valimai (2022).
Ajith Kumar's 61st film as the lead was announced in February 2022 under the working title "AK61". On September 21, 2022, the film's main title and first look poster were revealed. On December 9, 2022, Zee Music Company released the first single from the film, "Chilla Chilla". Even Non-Thla fans were drawn to that song.
