Doctor Bakshi is an upcoming Bengali medical thriller directed by Saptaswa Basu who is known for his work in The Oasis (2013), The Forlorn (2011) and Network (2019).
The film is a spin-off of Basu's 2021 film Pratidwandi, which stars Saswata Banerjee, Rudranil Ghosh, Saurav Das, Saayoni Ghosh and Maahi Kar in key roles.

Doctor Bakshi Trailer 2 is out now. This is an upcoming Bengali language crime-mystery-thriller film directed by Saptaswa Basu along with co-writer Arnab Bhaumik and Subhasish Guha and scheduled for release on 20th January 2023. Release under the banner of SMV Studio. The cast of this movie includes Parambrata Chattopadhyay, Subharsee Ganguly, Bonny Sengupta, Maahi Kr. and many more.
Saptaswa Basu also played the character of Dr. Bakshi in the film Pratidwandi which was released on 1 January 2021. The spin-off of this character will be shown in this film but according to some updates the story of the film will not be same as Pratidwandi. Subhasree will play the role of Mrinalini Sen, who suffers from a troma. and Bonnie playing the role of Aditya, who is a convict.
In the first and second trailers, the creators have not revealed a single glimpse of the story; they keep the audience in the dark. We have seen that Parambrata's dialogue is as authentic as ever. In the first trailer, they didn't give the audience any chance to learn any details about the story. This is a perfect trailer where everything is perfectly placed including the cast and crew of the Doctor Bakshi movie.
The story of Doctor Bakshi is written by Basu along with Subhasish Guha, and the script and dialogues are written by Arnab Bhaumik.
Produced by Saptarshi Sen and Shubhadeep Bhaumik, Doctor Bakshi stars Parambrata Chattopadhyay in the title role, known for his work in Bengali films Bhalo Theko, Hawa, Bodol and his Hindi debut Kahaani opposite Vidya Balan.
Doctor Bakshi also stars Subhasree Ganguly as Mrinalini Sen, Maahi Kar as Sraddha, and Bonny Sengupta as the antagonist Aditya. The film's cast members include Prosenjit Chowdhury and Prabir Kumar Sen as cinematographers, and Pabitra Jana as editor.
The film's background music and score are composed by Subhadeep Mitra and Nabarun Bose respectively. Bhupesh Arora is serving as the executive producer of the film.
