Anne Rice's Mayfair Witches 2023 Tv Series Review Trailer Poster Online

Anne Rice's Mayfair Witches, an urban fantasy set in the same universe as Interview with the Vampire, comes to NYCC ahead of its 2023 premiere on AMC.

On Thursday at New York Comic Con, AMC's upcoming series, Anne Rice's Mayfair Witches, took the main stage for a never-before-seen preview. Filmed in the atmospheric city of New Orleans, the show is based on author Anne Rice's books Lives of the Mayfair Witches and takes place in the same universe as her Interview with the Vampire. The cast and executive producers took the audience behind the scenes to chat about the making of the dark, romantic fantasy, set for release in early 2023, and the haunted mansion setting of its central mystery.

“Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches” will launch next month via a five-network simulcast premiere on AMC Networks. The world premiere will take place on BBC America, IFC, SundanceTV and WE TV along with AMC and AMC+ on Sunday, January 8 at 9 p.m. ET.


In addition to the series debut, the network has scheduled “All of Them Witches,” a documentary exploring the history of witches, which will premiere December 21 on AMC+ and January 2 at 10 p.m. ET on AMC as a supplemental special.


Based on Rice's best-selling trilogy, "Life of Mayfair Witches," the eight-episode series centers on an intuitive young neurosurgeon, Rowan Fielding (Alexandra Daddario), who discovers that she is the unlikely heir to a witch family. As she struggles with her new powers, she must deal with a sinister presence that has haunted her family for generations.


Alexandra Daddario leads the cast as Rowan Mayfair. Jack Huston joins the Emmy-nominated actor as Lasher alongside Tongayi Chirisa as Ciprien Grieve and Harry Hamlin as Cortland Mayfair. This Spalding serves as executive producer and executive producer with Mark Johnson, writer Michelle Ashford, director Michael Uppendahl, and Jeff Freilich. AMC Studios is supporting the production.


"'Anne Rice's Mayfair Witches' is a tremendously entertaining series in our emerging Anne Rice Immortal universe, with an excellent creative team and cast, led by Alexandra Daddario as an unforgettable Rowan Mayfair," said Dan McDermott, President of Entertainment and AMC Studios for AMC Networks, in a statement. "We want to give this series the widest possible launch across all five of our national networks, especially a few months after Anne Rice's first season of Interview with the Vampire was so well received by viewers and critics."


The series premiere episode, written by Spalding and Ashford and directed by Uppendahl, will be available to stream on Shudder, Sundance Now, Acorn and ALLBLK on January 12.


“All of Them Witches” features interviews from Pam Grossman, author of “Waking the Witch: Reflections on Women, Magic, and Power,” eponymous witches Bri Luna and Amanda Yates Garcia, and content creator and actor Curly Velasquez. Directed by Mona Pancha, the hour-long documentary film will explore the history of witch hunts, paganism and voodoo, and "challenges the myths that have become the fabric of popular culture," according to AMC.


Kathryn Everett, Kathleen Flood, Bryn Mooser executive produced the film alongside Justin Lacob for XTR. Steffie van Rhee and India Wadsworth are attached as producers and Matthew Cherchio as co-executive producer.
