If you want to know how successful "Gabby's Dollhouse" is on Netflix, Nielsen says it tied with "Jack Ryan" as the sixth most-watched original series on streaming, across any genre, in 2023. It surpassed "The Mandalorian" and other Netflix series in the Nielsen Top 10, such as "Outer Banks" and "The Lincoln Lawyer" last year. Netflix recently increased its order for "Gabby's Dollhouse" to 100 episodes in total, and its tenth season will premiere later this year.
But it's also the most-watched original children's series of the year. "Bluey" is by far the leader, but it's an Australian series and only airs in the United States. "Cocomelon" is also bigger, but it's aimed at younger preschoolers than the "Gabby's" audience and is a collection of short animated nursery rhymes rather than an episodic series. The next two most-watched children's series—SpongeBob SquarePants and "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse"—aren't considered streaming originals because they both originate on cable television.
Regardless of semantics, your niece will be very excited. The brand has created toys, publications, clothing, original music, and a growing YouTube channel. Universal also hopes to expand its presence in "Gabby's Dollhouse" with other experiences and events at its theme parks.
