So everyone was right that the pacing of the movies doesn't really help the story develop as it should and it's incredibly hard to relate to the characters when you can't even sit with them. Some cringeworthy scenes happened in the first part with no reason behind them, like a character I won't name switching from random dialogue to bursting into song, there are also too many scenes happening on the same rooftop.
The starlights barely appear on screen, look, I'm sorry but that was the big draw of this arc. They also removed the iconic music when they transform which is a shame. There's some weird back and forth between "are these new fighters our enemies?" and "omg the starlights are having a concert tonight even though we just found out their true personalities" fangirl moments in the same scenes and it's incredibly confusing. We also don't get any closure at all and it's the biggest flaw of the movie.

It's fine to follow the manga but I don't understand why not add a line with an explanation at least. In the original version (sorry, yes, I'll mention that) we not only spent a lot of time trying to understand their individual personalities, but we also got closure, even though that respective ending was rushed and left the story largely incomplete. I feel like you'd need to combine them to get any kind of satisfaction.
Ultimately, the animation in Part II has improved a lot, similar to how the Eternal movies performed. The last 15 minutes are really beautiful and well done, amazing use of colors and composition, the atmosphere is good, a deep understanding of the characters. It was fantastic to see Galaxia and we got time to spend time with her (unlike any of the other villains in Crystal) and understand her background and motivation a bit, which really helped with world-building and storytelling.
The soundtrack was lacking once again, aside from the intro music. It's still largely choir music mixed with piano and some brass. I feel like 70% of the 90s atmosphere was the music composed by Takanori Arisawa, and the remaining 30% was the voice acting. The original had a much darker atmosphere and it was a little frustrating to see this missing once again. It's a bit too simple when the manga clearly shows several violent events. These were never translated into the Crystal remake. It can be pretty bland in parts without this element.
Cosmos' VA sounded boring, I have no idea what happened there. Still, I enjoyed the second episode and thought it was the best the remake could do with the budget and attention. Nice closure and ending. It felt authentic.
It's sad that we never got to spend some time with any of the girls and Usagi's friends in the remake, there could have been more scenes showing the girls' bond and the building of their friendship. You can't rush these things and just show character 1 crying over character 2's death without any context and expect viewers to care.
