Netflix's Geek Week continues to announce exciting new series, and the latest has me intrigued to see Netflix's take on Curtis Jobling's Wereworld fantasy novels (originally titled) with the release of the new animated series Wolf King. This is just one of the new animated series available, along with Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance, which is also coming to the top streaming service.

Netflix will bring Curtis Jobling's Wereworld to a computer-animated series called Wolf King in 2025. Wolf King is an epic fantasy adventure series and coming-of-age story produced by Lime Pictures with animation by Jellyfish Pictures.
Stars: Louis Landau, Nina Barker-Francis, Ceallach Spellman
Netflix's Wolf King is directed by Tom Brass, whose visual effects and animation credits include Captive State, The Innocents, Nova, and more. The Wereworld writing team includes Celia Morgan (Eastenders, Jamie Johnson) and Andrew Burrell (Disenchantment, Eastenders).
Jellyfish Pictures is behind the animation for the series. They previously worked on How to Train Your Dragon: Homecoming, Spirit Untamed, The Boss Baby, Bad Boys, and Kung Fu Panda. For Netflix, the team is hard at work on the Roald Dahl adaptation, The Twits, which is set to premiere in 2025. Tom Haines (Glow-Up: Britain's Next Makeup Star) will compose the music for the series. Angelo Abela, Tim Compton, Curtis Jobling, and Barry Quinn produced the series for Lime Pictures.
The main cast of Netflix's Wereworld has yet to be officially announced. However, we already know two series regulars. Louis Landau (The Snake Queen) will voice Trent Ferran, Drew Ferran's adopted brother. In addition, Nina Barker-Francis (House of the Dragon) will voice Whitley, a friend of Drew's.
Additionally, David Dawson (The Last Kingdom) has joined the Wereworld voice cast as Count Vega, a quirky and charming pirate, and a Wireshark.
Wereworld announced an anticipated production run of 16 episodes (potentially split into two seasons of eight episodes each), each approximately 22 minutes long.
Yesterday (Monday the 16th), Netflix also announced the second season of Castlevania: Nocturne, which means Wolf King and Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance are competing for the best Netflix anime. While a release date for Wolf King hasn't been announced (we just know it's coming soon), there's plenty to get excited about thanks to a first trailer that gives us a glimpse into the story and animation style.
Wolf King, a coming-of-age story about Drew Ferran, who discovers he's the last in a long line of werewolves, is joined by another animated series with the potential to become one of Netflix's best series.
Netflix has released the first four minutes of Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance, a six-part sci-fi series coming to the streaming service on October 16. Interestingly, the six-part series follows the Red Wolves military division, so both shows focus on the animal in very different ways.
