Secrets & Sisterhood: The Sozahdahs 2023 Tv Series Review Trailer Poster Online

Disney has announced a new unscripted show called "Secrets and Sisterhood: The Sozahdahs" that follows the ups and downs of 10 modern day Muslim American sisters living in Los Angeles as they navigate their faith, family, career and love lives. According to the motto, “difficult decisions test your faith, and rotating rivalries test your sisterly bonds. Although the Sozahdah sisters keep secrets from each other, the number one rule they live by is: family above all else.

The Disney-backed streamer will host Secrets & Sisterhood: The Sozahdahs on June 7. All 10 episodes of the first season will be released on the same day. The show will follow the lives of 10 American Muslim sisters living in Los Angeles. Viewers will see the tight-knit family trying to assimilate to life in the United States while navigating its cultural expectations with their relationships and careers. Some of the sisters were born in Afghanistan before their parents fled in the 1980s, while the rest were born in the United States. The trailer for the new series was released on Wednesday.

Stars: Shakur Sozahdah, Siddiqa Sozahdah, Halimah Sozahdah

With 10 sisters, it will take a bit of time to get familiar with who is who. PEOPLE provided a summary of each sister. The eldest of the group is Shaista, a restorer and the matriarch of the sister crew. Halimah is involved in political movements and provides a voice for the community. Rabya also spends time seeking a better society, focusing on improving those affected by poverty. Khadija is a mother, just like Muzlefa. The youngest of the family is Hamida, who has a postgraduate degree in psychology and works as a special needs therapist.

Shakur has an entrepreneurial spirit, creating a documentary series about his family, as well as dabbling in real estate through home remodeling and the construction of complexes and commercial buildings. Jamilia is in the medical field as a PA and also has her hands on the business side of things, running Society in Scrubs, a company that seeks to style the clothing of health and wellness professionals. Siddiqa is also in the medical world as a registered nurse and is active in the community as she raises funds to support refugees. The real estate and entrepreneurship path continues with Nooreya, who emphasizes getting involved with start-ups in the world of housing and sports.

Throughout the trailer, there is a discussion of a slight division among the family in terms of their views due to their different upbringing in Afghanistan and the United States. Nooreya says in the trailer that the older sisters came from a conservative home, which changed once they came to the United States for the younger sisters. The younger group refers to itself as "The Wolf Pack".

There's a certain Keeping Up With the Kardashians feel to the trailer, so time will tell if the sisters will have the same effect. The two shows obviously share the narrative of kinship and the differing opinions within the family. One of the sisters even mentions in a voiceover that she thought filming a reality show with her family would be fun, but maybe not.

Secrets & Sisterhood: The Sozahdahs will be one of the few new unscripted shows coming to Hulu. There are two other shows that have been ordered to the platform. Love in Fairhope, which will follow five generations of women in an Alaskan town. There will also be Royal Rules of Ohio, a series centered on three Ghanaian sisters in their 20s living in Ohio.

A Minecraft Movie 2025 Movie Review Trailer Poster

If you were to throw a bucket in Hollywood today, you could easily find a dozen video game adaptations in development, either as TV series or movies. They're all vying for the same thing: critical acclaim, huge box office revenue, or a sudden surge in streaming subscribers thanks to established fandoms. But it's a long shot: Will they become a "Borderlands" movie flop or a "Last of Us" hit? Next month, Legendary Entertainment, Warner Bros. Pictures, and Microsoft are going for box office gold with a different kind of game-to-movie adaptation: "A Minecraft Movie." Director: Jared Hess Writers: Chris Bowman, Hubbel Palmer, Neil Widener Stars: Jennifer Coolidge, Jason Momoa, Emma Myers For the uninitiated, Microsoft-owned "Minecraft" is a sandbox game that immerses players in the Overworld, a whimsical dimension made up of blocky, box-like voxels. There's no single story or single way to play: users can craft items, build structures, ba...

The Acolyte 2024 Tv Series Review Trailer Poster

There are three main types of Star Wars stories. There's the kind where you write whatever you want and call it Star Wars, common in the many novels published in the 1990s. There's the kind where you recycle existing Star Wars stories and make them familiar; this has been the primary way of doing things at Disney. But finally, there are the stories that enthusiastically use Star Wars as a setting to create something new. There have been several novels that fit that profile, as did the first season of Andor, and now, four episodes in, it looks like the new Star Wars series The Acolyte, set a century before the movies, also fits the bill. in that category. . The Acolyte centers on a pair of twins, Osha and Mae (both played by Amandla Stenberg). The girls were raised by an unaffiliated coven of Force users, but despite living outside the Republic, the Jedi, including Carrie-Ann Moss's Indara, stuck their noses into these women's affairs, leading to the disaster. As a resu...
