Burden of Proof 2023 Tv Series Review Trailer Poster Online

 HBO released the official trailer for Burden of Proof, a documentary series that examines the case of Jennifer Pandos, a 15-year-old girl who disappeared in 1987. The search for answers takes place in four episodes filmed in cinema verité over seven years , and the trailer reveals Jennifer's brother's search for the truth after living with a lie for 22 years.


Episodes one and two will premiere on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at 9 p.m. m. ET/PT. Episodes three and four follow on June 7.

HBO has revealed an official trailer for a chilling docu-drama series titled Burden of Proof, from filmmaker Cynthia Hill. This is a documentary about a real cold case, but it's shot and presented as a docu-drama with re-enactments and fancy cinematography that makes the whole thing look like a fictional HBO series. 


Decades after his sister's disappearance, a brother is determined to find the truth no matter the cost. Shot in cinema verité over seven years, the series takes place in real time. It centers on a man named Stephen who begins his own investigation into what he fears happened at his parents' house in 1987, the night his sister Jennifer disappeared, leaving behind a suspicious handwritten note as only clue. A rich and complicated narrative emerges as Stephen questions the price he has paid in pursuing this painful quest for closure. Another one of these true crime deals for all of America's horrific story junkies.


Two-time Emmy Award winner Cynthia Hill (A Chef's Life) directed the true crime docuseries and served as a producer along with Christine Delp and Andrea Weigl. Charlotte Cook and Rahdi Taylor of Concordia Fellowship and Davis Guggenheim served as executive producers. HBO's Nancy Abraham and Lisa Heller also served as executive producers.


According to HBO: When 15-year-old Jennifer Pandos disappeared in 1987, her parents told everyone that she ran away from her. Decades later, her brother Stephen embarks on a relentless odyssey in search of the truth. His investigation into the case threatens to destroy his family, as he is strongly convinced that his parents are involved in the crime. As time passes, more threads are unraveled and new evidence comes to light, Stephen begins to question everything he has come to believe.


The series unfolds in real time as Stephen launches his own investigation into what he fears happened at his parents' house the night Jennifer disappeared, leaving behind a suspicious handwritten note as the only clue. Delicately illustrated with Jennifer's diary entries and letters and carefully crafted dramatic visualizations of family and friends' shifting and conflicting memories of the months leading up to Jennifer's disappearance, episodic flashbacks paint a portrait of a complex teenager who He is dealing with troubled family dynamics.


As missing evidence is discovered, lie detector tests are failed, and past abuses are revealed, a rich and complicated narrative emerges as Stephen wonders about the price he has paid in pursuing this painful quest for closure.
