MADOFF The Monster of Wall Street is the latest true crime investigative documentary series set to premiere next year. Categorized as a financial thriller, there will be four parts to the series and it is directed by Joe Berlinger.
Over four hour-long episodes, audiences take a journey through the unique story of Bernie Madoff, a Wall Street financier who created a $64 billion dollar Ponzi scheme, one of the largest and most In this docuseries, we delve into Madoff's career and fortune, and how his plan shattered the lives of countless individual investors who had placed their trust in the Wall Street statesman. There is one thing about losing investment, but here people lost their homes, their livelihoods and their dignity.
This documentary series provides audiences with unique interviews with Madoff whistleblowers, employees, investigators, victims, and never-before-seen video statements from Madoff himself, providing detailed and honest accounts of what happened. It is interesting to see the development of Wall Street and its dramatic changes over the years, the implementation of computers, and how the demand for more and more stocks and shares grew. Buying and selling stocks is something we all want to get involved in, because of the huge profits we see that can come from it, but deep down, the stakes are much higher, and it's definitely a unique world that Madoff was able to control. , manipulate and play in your favor.
Madoff is described as the "God of Finance," a "Financial Sociopath," and my personal favorite, "Financial Serial Killer." It's clear that people are disgusted with what he did. The intense passion with which they speak of him ranges from amazement and admiration to utter contempt. Basically, despite all his words and actions, Madoff never did any trading, it was all a Ponzi scheme (like borrowing from Peter to pay Paul back and forth). These fictitious exchanges caused massive chaos for people around the world. Since he was Jewish, he played with his Jewish community, that people couldn't believe that he would betray one of his own, but it wasn't just the Jewish community, it was each and every one.
Like all good investigative documentaries, we have a detailed breakdown of how Madoff was unraveled and ultimately caught up. He was investigated multiple times, by multiple organizations and individuals. Madoff was aided by another clever con man, Frank DiPascali, who helped him cover up his fraud, in some rather brilliant ways. His staging reassured all investors, regulators, and customers that all was well, even though it evidently was not. It's hard to distance yourself from the victims as it could be any of us, and although people received ransoms, none of the victims did.
The fraud went on for decades, and finally, when Madoff began to lose control and lose money, at the age of 70 he was arrested by the FBI. He went to prison for his crimes and died in prison at the age of 82. The hatred for this man runs so deep that his family refuses to pick up his ashes, so unfortunately they are out there somewhere.
